Does WebPT have an AI scribe?
Yes. In August 2025, WebPT announced a partnership with Comprehend Health to bring an AI voice-to-text scribe into WebPT. It can listen to the visit (ambient) or take dictation, and it drafts the SOAP sections of your note. It works with SOAP 1.0, SOAP 2.0 and InsightGO.
It also does two things most scribes don't, and they matter: real-time compliance flags and CPT coding guidance on demand. There's also a chatbot in the note for changes.

Who actually builds it?
This is worth knowing. The scribe is Comprehend Health's technology. WebPT's press release calls it embedded in the EMR. Comprehend's own WebPT setup guide describes a Chrome extension: open the note, click the extension, record, stop, and let it generate.
That's fine, and Comprehend focuses on rehab, so it isn't a generic medical scribe pretending to know PT. The practical point is that "built into WebPT" and "a Chrome extension that runs on top of WebPT" are closer than they sound. Claire works the second way too. So the real comparison is about what each tool does once it's running, not about where it's installed.
How much does it cost?
WebPT doesn't list a price publicly. The announcement promised "a much lower cost" than standalone scribes, but no number. You'll have to ask your rep.
For reference, Comprehend sells directly at $99 per clinician per month (or $999 a year), with the same price across EMRs.
Claire's prices are on our homepage, starting at $49 a month for 50 visits ($45 billed annually), with unlimited therapists on every plan. For a WebPT clinic with PTAs and part-timers, that makes a big difference, since nobody needs their own seat. Three clinicians on Comprehend would be $297 a month. On Claire's Clinic plan, they'd share 250 visits for $229.
How does Claire work inside WebPT?
Same browser, same note, one extra panel.
Setup, once. Open a WebPT daily note, open Claire, and click each field in order (Subjective, Objective, Assessment, Plan, or however your template is laid out). Claire saves that layout for your workspace, so your whole team gets it. If WebPT changes the form, Claire notices.
Each visit. Hit Start in the side panel and treat. Claire uses a medical speech model and keeps your voice separate from the patient's. If the gym Wi-Fi drops, audio is saved on the device and uploads when the connection's back.
After. A minute or two after you stop, the note is ready in your template. The daily note already knows the initial eval and last visit, so goals and the plan carry forward. Click Push and Claire fills WebPT's fields. You can replace what's there or add to the top or bottom, which is handy if you've already typed a line or two.

The two things that aren't the note. From the same recording, Claire drafts the home exercise program (exercises you actually did, with sets, reps and a video for each) and a patient visit summary you can email. WebPT has its own HEP tools, and lots of clinics use them. The difference is that here you don't build the program from scratch, because it's already drafted from what you said in the session.

Over time. When you fix a note, hit Learn. Claire turns the edit into a rule ("Use 'pt' not 'patient'", "Always list the HEP reviewed in Plan") and follows it next time.

Where WebPT's scribe is the better choice
We'll be straightforward about this. If your biggest documentation worry is coding and compliance (getting dinged on an audit, timed codes not matching what's written, missing medical-necessity language), Comprehend's real-time flags and CPT guidance cover something Claire doesn't.
That's a deliberate choice on our side. Most of the clinics Claire is built for are cash-based or hybrid, where the hard part is the note itself, not the billing code. So we put our effort into the note, the HEP and the patient recap. If you're a high-volume insurance clinic, WebPT's coding help is worth weighing.
And some clinics really do want everything on one invoice from one vendor. That's a fair reason too.
Where Claire is the better choice
If the hours you're losing go into the note, the HEP, and the follow-up email, Claire covers all three from one recording, shows you its price up front, and doesn't charge clinics per therapist. It also isn't tied to WebPT, which matters if you're a multi-site group on different EMRs or might switch someday.
Go with Claire if…
- You want the HEP and the patient recap to come out of the same visit, not just the SOAP note.
- You want to see the price before you talk to sales.
- You have PTAs, aides who document, or part-time staff and don't want to pay per seat.
- You want a scribe that learns your phrasing instead of you editing the same thing every day.
WebPT AI Scribe is probably the better fit if…
- Coding accuracy and audit risk keep you up at night. Real-time CPT and compliance flags are a real advantage.
- You'd rather buy everything from WebPT and have one support line.
- Your company has a WebPT enterprise agreement and adding a tool through it is much easier than adding a new vendor.
Can you use both?
Technically, yes, since they're separate tools. In practice, most clinics pick one scribe and use their EMR's own billing checks for coding.
The bottom line
For WebPT, the scribe is one feature inside a very large platform, built by a partner. For us, it's the whole company. Everything Claire does, from the templates and the rules it learns from your edits to the HEP and the patient email, exists because a PT needed it.
That focus is why Claire's notes get closer to how you write the longer you use it, why the price is on our homepage instead of behind a sales call, and why your PTAs and part-timers don't each need a seat. If your main problem is billing compliance, WebPT's scribe has a real edge. If your main problem is the time you spend on documentation, Claire is built for exactly that.
Run Claire's free 7-day trial on the same handful of visits you'd test WebPT's scribe on, and count the edits each note needs before you'd sign it.
