We know PtEverywhere well. It was one of the first EMRs Claire ever worked in, and a lot of our earliest users were PtEverywhere clinics. So when PtEverywhere put its own AI scribe in every plan this June, at no extra cost, we paid attention.
Here's the honest version: if you're on PtEverywhere, you already have a good scribe. This page is about whether Claire is worth paying for on top of it. For some clinics it isn't, and we'll say which.

What you already have
PtEverywhere's scribe isn't a general medical tool with a PT template on top. From what PtEverywhere publishes:
- It's built for PT. It writes a PT SOAP note, with ROM and strength in Objective and goals in the Plan.
- It carries forward. For returning patients, it looks at prior notes and goals, so the daily note builds on the eval.
- It's native. The draft lands in the visit record. Nothing to push, nothing to install.
- It fits how you already chart. Record, dictate or type, then replace or append single SOAP sections or the whole note. It works with Copy Last Note, too.
- It runs on phone, tablet or laptop, including home visits and telehealth.
- It's included with no caps. On every plan, from the $49 Starter up.
That's a strong baseline. For a cash-pay solo PT on Starter, it's hard to argue with.
So what would Claire add?
Four things. If none of them matter to you, stop here and keep the money.
1. It learns the edits you keep making
Every scribe gets some things wrong in the same way, every time: "patient" where you write "pt", an Assessment that runs three sentences too long, the HEP missing from Plan. With most scribes you fix it on every note, forever.
In Claire, you fix it once and press Learn. Claire saves the change as a rule and follows it on every note after that. You can see the full list, switch rules off, or write your own.

2. You decide how each section reads
Claire's templates are built section by section. For each one you choose bullets or paragraphs, how much detail, whether to hide it when nothing came up, and fixed text you always want included. There are starting points for general PT, ortho, sports and pelvic health. If your notes have a house style, this is how you get it without editing every draft.
3. The HEP and the recap come from the same recording
PtEverywhere has a good HEP module, and lots of clinics use it. The difference is who builds the program. In Claire, the HEP is already drafted from what you did in the session, with sets, reps and a video for each exercise (your clinic's own YouTube videos if you have them). You check it and send it. Claire also drafts a plain-language visit summary for the patient.

4. It's not tied to one EMR
PtEverywhere's scribe works only in PtEverywhere. That's fine until you run two locations on two systems, or you buy a clinic on WebPT, or you switch. Claire works in PtEverywhere and 80+ other EMRs, with the same rules and templates.
How Claire runs inside PtEverywhere
It's a Chrome extension that docks beside your note. The first time, you click PtEverywhere's note fields in order so Claire knows where each section goes, and that layout is saved for your whole team. Each visit after that: hit Start, treat, hit Done, review, and press Push to fill the fields. If the Wi-Fi drops mid-session, Claire keeps the audio on the device and uploads it when you're back online.

One thing to know: if you use Claire, you'd generally turn PtEverywhere's scribe off for those visits. Running two scribes on one visit just gives you two drafts to read.

The cost question, plainly
PtEverywhere's scribe costs nothing extra. Claire starts at $49 a month for 50 visits ($45 billed annually), shared by unlimited therapists, with larger plans and an unlimited-visit plan for solo PTs.
So the math is simple. Say Claire saves you about five minutes per visit compared with the built-in scribe, mostly through fewer edits plus the HEP and the email. At 50 visits a month, that's about four hours back for $49 ($45 billed annually). A full-time PT seeing 250 visits a month gets back about 20 hours. Either way, that's a lot of evenings back.
Which one?
Go with Claire if…
- You keep fixing the same things in every draft and want the scribe to stop making them.
- You want the HEP and the patient recap written for you, not just the note.
- Your group runs more than one EMR, or you might leave PtEverywhere one day.
- You want tight control over how each section reads.
PtEverywhere AI Scribe is probably the better fit if…
- Your drafts already need only a minute or two of edits.
- You'd rather not add any software or another subscription.
- You mostly document from the PtEverywhere phone app.
- You're on the Starter plan and every dollar counts. Free is free.
Why a dedicated scribe still wins
For PtEverywhere, the scribe is a feature that makes a whole EMR more appealing. It has to share a roadmap with scheduling, billing, RCM, telehealth and everything else they build. That's a reasonable choice for an EMR company.
For us, documentation is the only thing we build. Every release is about one question: how close can the note get to what you'd have written yourself? That's why Claire learns from your edits, lets you shape every section, and drafts the HEP and patient recap from the same recording. A built-in scribe gets you a first draft. Claire is built to get you a note you can sign.
Run Claire's 7-day free trial on a handful of visits next to what you get from PtEverywhere now. Count the edits you'd make before signing, and time how long the HEP takes you. You'll know by Friday.
